 Dearest Rick,
It’s curious where life’s roads lead. Ray and I had needed a house for a couple of years already as our family of pets was expanding. However, our search had been limited to watching HGTV and browsing grocery store magazines. Ray had developed serious contempt for real estate agents during the housing boom as he watched them "get rich for doing mostly nothing but manipulating the clients and market". I could not convince him otherwise so when we began our search in earnest, he was to be the "bad cop" and I the "good cop". Smile. All the while, I had been praying that God would lead us in the right direction and bless our search. You see, we weren’t even sure what we could afford, how we would finance, or even where we wanted to live!
One Saturday morning I picked up the Real Estate Book and saw the kind of house I wanted to live in. My expectations were high as I had become used to a certain lifestyle in my brand new South Loop condo. I called the phone number to get the listed sale price. Surely the good Lord works in mysterious ways! You called me and explained your method and style with no pressure offering to show me that one house. I didn’t realize at the time how odd it was to spend both our time and gas money to see just one house but it was at that meeting that Ray and I knew you were the Godsend we prayed for. All of Ray’s presumptions and reservations dissipated immediately.
You were so down to earth, not snobby or too important to be wasting your time with us. Our concerns became yours and you were genuinely interested in helping us find the right home for us. Even when I explained that our family would be expanding soon (puppies), you didn’t laugh in our faces. Your background as an appraiser gave us even more confidence in your ability to find homes that were worthy of the asking prices. Not only did we find an angel in you, but you had a team of experts to handle every aspect of home buying from a great home inspector and mortgage broker to a highly competent attorney. Your entire team was just as honest, kind, and professional as you.
You computed distances to work for both of us in finding the best suburb for our search. Then you sent us an abundance of practical choices in our price range as determined by your mortgage broker not our dreams. Every night I came home from work excited to check my email for more properties, and you never let me down. Even when Ray and I couldn’t agree, you somehow honored both our wishes and sent choices with both 2 and 3 car garages. As we looked, you pointed out the pros and cons of each home, and took us back to look at some as many times as it took.
Ultimately we found three homes to make an offer on. One by one they each got away. Without our spirit guidance and your intuition, we might still be hanging on the line at the mercy of previous pending contracts. After each disappointment, you offered encouragement and other potential properties.
In the end I got the brand new home I wanted with all the amenities and Ray got the country space he wanted. Heck, there’s even a barn in the distance behind our home! Smile. And our dog conceived a month after closing so you will have puppy nieces and nephews by Valentine’s Day!
We can’t thank you enough for all your time and efforts on our behalf. We have found not just an agent for life, but a friend as well. We thank God for the angel He sent us in you. May He give you the desires of your heart and continue to keep you and yours!

We had quite the experience last year when trying to sell our house that we were very nervous when we decided to try it again this year. You made the entire process so easy and fun. We'd like to thank you for helping us in both sell and purchase our home(s). You got our previous home sold in just two weeks! We were very pleased with our selling price. Although we were delighted in the quick turnaround, we were a bit nervous about the closing date being just six weeks away, since we had not yet purchased a home, and thus had no place to live!!
You reassured us that we would find a home and that it would be a home that we would be happy with. You spend several hours during the evenings and were very patient as we looked and looked. At the time, the real estate market was low on selection and we really wanted to live in Geneva. There were a limited number of homes in our price range, but you managed to keep us up to date daily with the most recent ones.
We didn't feel any pressure from you to buy right away because you wanted to help us find the perfect home. At last we were ready to pull the trigger and buy a home in a different town, since there wasn't any available in Geneva. We thought we were almost there, but we had second thoughts-something just didn't feel right. So...we were back to starting over. Once again, you assured us that the first home wasn't meant to be and that we would find something, even though the closing for our home sale was getting closer. Shortly thereafter, we looked at two homes in Geneva, in an area we loved and there it was!!! We went back to THE house the next day and made an offer.
